Nayela is a singer-songwriter and producer born in Brussels, where her first memories are musical, thanks to the talent and eclectic taste for music that runs in her Angolan family. Her father taught her to love his home country through the songs he played on his guitar before the family moved to Luanda, where she took guitar lessons and ventured into digital production as a teenager. Her very first demos landed her trip to Johannesburg to compete in The Voice Angola, an eye-opening experience that further developed her appetite for a musical career.

Written and produced by Nayela, 'Perda, her debut single effortlessly combines vulnerability and nostalgia. The lyrical lightness of the images that her voice invokes invites the listener to enter a world built from groovy basslines and broken beats wrapped in layers of ethereal synthesizers that the songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, describes as R&B under the sign of Luanda.

Based in Lisbon since 2019, she has already worked and collaborated with artists such as Dino d'Santiago and Kady and made her acting debut in the short film "Pele Escura" (2021), directed by Graça Castanheira. Her influences are electronic music, semba, MPB, R&B, kuduro and Kizomba. The music she came in contact with at the parties her siblings used to throw at their parent's garage and that she now uses as sonic maps for a futuristic Angola that has been long overdue.
